Assessment

Data Analysis
  • Utilizing the Tiered Supports risk criteria, the ABAs identify challenging situations occurring across the state and the specific individuals in need of intensive support.
  • Integrity data is examined to measure whether we are effectively doing what we say we are and whether the desired impact is achieved.
Training
  • We offer live virtual training in addition to in person events. Contact your local Tiered Supports representative to learn more about Tier 3 training opportunities.
Problem-solving
  • The team works with you to examine complex situations, offer solutions, and facilitate action-planning to help you succeed through effective collaboration.  Contact the ABA in your area to schedule your very own Tier 3 problem solving meeting.
Intensive Interventions
  • The Behavior Support Review Committee (BSRC) meets statewide, to provide a virtual, safe, and positive place for the entire treatment team to review the Behavior Support Plan (BSP) and Individual Support Plan (ISP) for those individuals who are at a risk of poor outcomes due to challenging behavior and when prohibited practices are found as outlined by Division Guideline #85.
  • The goal of the BSRC is to:
    • Offer consultation and problem-solving assistance.
    • Promote the implementation of best practice strategies that lead to greater independence and enhanced quality of life for individuals with challenging behaviors.
    • Develop the overall effectiveness of behavioral services across the state.
      • To facilitate the peer review process for behavior analysts the Behavior Support Plan (BSP) Checklist is used by the Committee. The BSP Checklist is a tool comprised of critical elements for a comprehensive BSP that is technologically sound.
    • Ensure the use of best practice strategies are used to address challenging behaviors in ISPs by reviewing ISP documents
    • To celebrate success as risk is reduced and quality of life is increased.
  • Teams receive a consultation summary form and an action planning tool at the conclusion of the review.
  • The BSRC is also required by 9 CSR 45 3.090 and the timelines and requirements are outlined in Division Guideline #84.
  • A referral can be made to the committee by completing the referral form, submitting the necessary documents and emailing the information to bsrc@dmh.mo.gov .
