Volunteer

Volunteers play an important role in making the St. Louis Forensic Treatment Center (FTC) a success! Currently, all the wonderful volunteers work in the Canteen, Library/Resource Center, Clothing Room, Garden, and during Special Events. If you would like to help in one of these areas or if you have other volunteer ideas, please contact the Volunteer Services Coordinator. Applicants must be over 21 years of age.

Nursing Psychiatric Rotations

Nursing students gain rewarding and practical experience, while training at St. Louis Forensic Treatment Center – North in its clinical trials and Psychiatric Rotation Programs. The program schedule is coordinated through our networking educational institutions.

Psychology

Psychologists at the FTC have been active in the APA accredited St. Louis Psychology Internship Consortium since 1989. Pre-doctoral psychology interns who rotate through this site will gain experience in forensic psychology in a treatment setting and treatment of the chronically mentally ill. Social Work

Student Practicum: Applicants must be Masters in Social Work candidates from an accredited school of social work. A letter of interest and resume will serve as the initial application. Please allow 3-4 months lead time for the application/interview process prior to start date. One and two semester practicum opportunities are possible, based upon Field Instructor availability.

Music Therapy

Music Therapy practicum and internship experiences for students are available under the supervision of a board-certified music therapist.
