During the COVID-19 outbreak, many individuals who are employed and supported by DPI Employment Connections have been unable to continue to work due to stay-at-home orders. DPI is making sure that individuals have an opportunity to stay connected. The DPI Employment Connections team has been able to support Individuals through Telehealth using Zoom, an online face-to-face meeting tool.

The employment team has taken this time to think outside the box and ensure individuals remain engaged and continue to work towards their employment goals. Individuals in the employment program have been able to participate in job related games such as Job Jeopardy and Family Feud. These activities have been created to include topics and scenarios referencing team work, employment application information, building relationships with natural supports, and qualities of a good employee. They have also participated in various types of curriculum to enhance their current job skills. Individuals who are not employed yet have been able to prepare for interviews, build their resume, work on their Discovery Workbook Guide, apply for jobs, and partake in virtual interviews with employers of their interest.

DPI will continue to ensure that during this difficult time Individuals will continue to be supported with achieving their employment goals and stay connected while remaining healthy.
