For many individuals having developmental disabilities, this can be a confusing and lonely time. Developing Potential's day program is physically closed but continues to engage with individuals served in a number of ways to ensure their health and safety and to keep them active and engaged. From telehealth visits to virtual tours of zoos and museums, individuals know that their staff care for them and care about spending time with them. We play games and do puzzles and this creates a time when individuals can open up and ask questions they may have or share their feelings with staff. Listening to music and taking virtual yoga lessons helps individuals relax and maintain their health. All in all, DSPs are finding fun and creative ways to ensure we are still caring for the mind, body and spirit of each individual we serve.
