Collaborative Practice

Residents will participate in two collaborative practice clinics while on site at Center for Behavioral Medicine.

The Clozapine Monitoring Clinic is in collaboration with the attending psychiatrists. Pharmacists complete all monitoring and REMS requirements for all patients on clozapine. As a part of the protocol, pharmacists can order labs and hold clozapine based on REMS requirements.

The Lipid Clinic is in collaboration with the internal medicine consultants. Pharmacists screen all patients for inclusion in the clinic. Once a patient is enrolled in the clinic, the pharmacist completes all monitoring and medication initiation/adjustments based on the most current lipid management guidelines.

Pharmacy residents are also credentialed to perform movement disorder assessments, including the Abnormal Involuntary Movement Scale.

Residents also participate in the Clozapine Monitoring clinic when on rotation at Northwest Missouri Psychiatric Rehabilitation Center, in collaboration with the attending psychiatrists.
