What is Electronic Visit Verification (EVV)?

EVV is a technology that automates the gathering of service information. EVV captures time and location at beginning and end of Personal Assistant shifts. EVV gives SDS Employers, Support Coordinators, and State Agencies access to service delivery information in real time to ensure there are no gaps in care throughout the entire course of the service plan.

Why is it required?

The 21st Century Cures Act requires implementation of Electronic Visit Verification (EVV) for all Medicaid-funded personal care services, both agency and self-directed. All SDS program participants must adhere to EVV requirements and as part of the overall Compliance process.
