Missouri Alliance for Dual Diagnosis

MOADD Summit - Save the Date - November 9, 2023 in Columbia Missouri

The Missouri Alliance for Dual Diagnosis (MOADD) was established in 2018, as a collaborative effort between Department of Mental Health (DMH) staff and DMH providers with interest in developing expertise in supporting individuals with dual intellectual/developmental disabilities (I/DD) and behavioral health diagnosis.

MOADD Taskforce & MOADD Advisory Committee

The MOADD Taskforce included a diverse interdisciplinary group of professionals from across the state of Missouri and was formed in recognition that individuals with co-occurring conditions face unique challenges in accessing appropriate care. This taskforce produced the content of the Missouri Alliance for Dual Diagnosis (MOADD) Guidebook, defining and describing best practice approaches to support individuals with co-occurring mental/behavioral health symptoms and a diagnosed intellectual/developmental disability (IDD).

After defining best practices included in the MOADD Guidebook, the remaining taskforce members continue to serve as an advisory committee to the Department of Mental Health.

MOADD Best Practices

The Missouri Alliance for Dual Diagnosis (MOADD) Guidebook defines best practice clinical guidelines and approaches to support individuals with co-occurring intellectual, developmental and behavioral health diagnoses. Topics include: General Safety Considerations, Medication Management Primer for Dual Diagnosis, Trauma, Autism Spectrum Disorder/Intellectual Disabilities and Anxiety, Autism Spectrum Disorder/Intellectual Disabilities and Aggression, Autism Spectrum Disorder/Intellectual Disabilities and Depression, and Autism Spectrum Disorder/Intellectual Disabilities and Substance Use/Problematic Risky Behavior.
