THE FORENSIC OUTPATIENT EVALUATION SERVICES
The Forensic Outpatient Evaluation Service conducts pre-trial, presentence and sexual predator evaluations of individuals ordered by the courts to undergo mental examinations. The Certified Forensic Examiners have been trained to conduct court-related evaluations in a way that bridge the gap between clinical mental health assessments and the legal standards in Missouri law.
We address such issues as competency to stand trial, competency to waive miranda rights, criminal responsibility (insanity; NGRI), battered spouse syndrome, diminished capacity, risk for future dangerousness, and sexual predator commitment. In many ways, the Forensic Evaluation Unit functions as the "Front Door" to the forensic system.
The facility provides Forensic Outpatient Court Evaluation services to residents of the following Missouri counties: (16) Lincoln, Warren, St. Charles, Franklin; (17B) Washington, Iron, St. Francois; (18) Texas, Wright, Douglas, Ozark, Howell, Oregon, Shannon; (19) Reynolds, Wayne, Carter, Ripley, Butler, Dunklin, Pemiscot; (20) New Madrid, Stoddard, Scott, Mississippi; (21) Cape Girardeau, Perry, Bollinger, Madison, Ste.
