Family Support Coordinator
Kathy Stewart is the Family Support Coordinator at the Kirksville Regional Office.
The Family Support Coordinator is knowledgeable and proficient in the areas of:
- Family support philosophy, practices, definition and history to understand how this way of delivering services is different than typical service coordination.
- State/local/national family support resources and services and funding options available through the Division and Medicaid and those that are beyond the typical resources provided through the Division as well.
- Best practices related to topics such as self advocacy, inclusion, integration, self determination, social capital, person centered thinking, employment first, etc.
Kathy has been a Mandt instructor since 1992. She also provides training in the following classes: Positive Behavior Supports, Understanding Developmental Disabilities, Documentation-Event Form-Confidentiality, Communicating With People With Disabilities and Ethic's of Touch.
