Benefits
Interns are eligible for all benefits afforded regular hospital employees, including medical benefits with dental and vision-care options, life insurance, vacation and sick time (each accrued at the rate of 10 hours per month), and 12 paid holidays.
Work Hours
The internship is a one-year, full-time training program. Interns are required to complete 2080 hours of employment during the internship year (including paid leave), working a minimum of 40 hours per week. Regular work hours are 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Work completed outside of regular work hours is not counted toward the 2080 total. Interns are expected to work during regular work hours unless modifications are approved in advance by their rotation supervisor(s) and the Director of Training. Work completed outside regular hours, unless approved in advance as just described, does not count toward the 2080 total.
Outside Employment
Internship training is rigorous and will require an extensive commitment from interns. Furthermore, the Psychology Department is responsible for the clinical training and supervision of interns throughout the year. For these reasons, outside clinical work of any kind is strongly discouraged. Approval for other non-clinical work may be granted with the written approval of the Training Director.
